This one is for the Ravelry Day for sale pile :D

3 ply, one BFL, one british merino...spun from roving hand~dyed in my "Big Banana" colourway, then a solid merino ply, in a russetty copper colour :)
It's quite chunky, and randomly thick and thin...two skeins, one 78g, the other 95g...total of about 170yds.
It will self pattern too....as you can see from the yarn cake :D

Kakadu, 3ply handspun

This is one yummy squooshy yarn.....I love it :)
Reminds me of all the red spectrum colours you find in the Australian outback.....it oozes warmth.
One ply SCF "Kakadu" merino, one ply solid merino in brown and the other is space spun, 4 colours picked out to compliment the variegated ply.

Cairns II, 3 ply handspun

I just finished spinning and plying the remains of the Cairns Polwarth I got from Southern Cross Fibres. I’ve plied it with a semi~ solid purple single made up of baby alpaca, silk and cashmere, and then a space spun single made up of olive and a deep turquoise solid merino…
Its turned out really well….picked out all the lovely colours in the Polwarth and enhanced them….
I am going to make myself a Cable Twist Beanie with it, as it will self stripe and look cool...... :)

Getting there.......

Finished spinning the superwash BFL for my Mum's Xmas pressie yarn last night.....so now to the plying!!!
Its a lot different plying on Lola...for a start she has a tensioned mobile Lazy Kate.....so I've had to change plying position, and get used to resistance when pulling the singles up to be plied.
Have got used to it quite quickly though......blimey them singles are uber twisty!!!!
Its about 17/18 wraps per inch at the moment....but all that will change once the twist has been set......
More pics once its all done :D

She's here!!!!

Say hello to Lola...the newest spinnerly addition to the Longlegs household!! She's a Louet Julia and she's wonderful!!! She's the big sister of my travelling wheel, Lily, and their parts are interchangeable...so I have 10 bobbins...hehehe
I immediately, well not quite immediately as I had to finish my workload for today, put her together, and put Lily's flyer and last bobbin of my Mum's sock yarn on her, and started spinning :) Because she's taller (and bigger) than Lily, my spinning position is a bit better, and so I don't have as much shoulder pain :D
On a sadder note, I say goodbye to my lovely Louie tomorrow. He's going to live with someone who I've know online for quite a few years now, so I am happy he'll be loved and looked by a new family of four :D

I couldn't wait for it to dry to take pics, so it hasn't fluffed up at all yet....but you get an idea of the colours!!! I am so pleased with it.......I finished plying it at 11pm last night!!!
Don't forget to buy lots of raffle tickets at Woolfest, there are going to be some mega fabarOOnie prizes!!!

I can do 3ply, I can do 3ply..... **sings**

I can't believe I actually made this!!! It was so easy and quick to ply together......
I've named this creation "Guinevere II", as its a little different from the original....
One single is of variegated Corriedale, spun from pencil roving, one is a single of gold/burgundy/cobalt blue merino, to make it self stripe, and the third single is black merino. The colour changes will come approximately every 13yds of yarn.

My new toy :)

Called “Louisa” by my youngest, Joel…..bless!!
I got her from Scottish Fibres, and also got another Lazy Kate rack for my wheel. I’m going to make an extender and tiptoe gently into 3 and 4 ply yarns!!!
I tried her out on Sunday, carded a little of the Wensleydale/Jacob fibre that
Vampy sent me…..and it works!! The fibre is really lanolin rich though, so i think i need to strip some more out before I try again….don’t want to make Louisa dirty!!!
I just want to say a BIG thankyou to everyone who has supported me through my etsy shop the past couple of months....Louisa is the product of all your custom!!!
