It's Monday...AGAIN!!!
Had a poorly DH at home for the most of last week, but I have managed to get quite a bit of work done. I spun up some Corriedale and BFL into an aran-ish weight.....and then over dyed it....
I am really happy with how it turned out. The different base colours of the yarn means the dyes are taken up differently, its a really interesting effect :)
I shall definitely be spinning more!

Monday Murmours :)
At the top, we have "April Showers II", made from a single of hand dyed Corriedale roving, and a single of blue merino...
Swap Bag :)
This is the second incarnation of my bag pattern, and I really enjoyed knitting it… I used 300g of variegated aran, that I dyed myself, to match 150g of block coloured pure wool from my stash. I worked with the variegated and the block coloured wool stranded together, then changed the block coloured wool every 10 rows, so there are subtle colour changes throughout…the different block colours bringing out the matching colour in the variegated.
I had enough of the variegated to make a little purse too…..

Arty-Farty mama?
This one reminds me of those cosmetics counters you find in department stores, all the eyeshadows and lipsticks lined up in colour families. It was spun in the same way as "April Showers", each different coloured piece of roving spit into 3, then lined up in order, and then this single plied with a rather electric pink! I was hoping the other colours might calm it down a bit....but it won out in the end! Anyway, this one is for lovers of pink and warpaint everywhere!!

Owwwwww :(
Was moving some boxes around the other day, trying to clear our life laundry from the old loft, and have aggravated my poorly shoulder :( So thats meant no knitting, or spinning for a few days, which as you can imagine has driven me loopy.
I have also realised that sock knitting aggravates it too, which saddens me BIG TIME, as I love knitting socks :(
We also have another poorly in the house, my eldest son has tonsillitis. He's well on the way to recovery now though, as we caught it early and he was on anti B's within hours of looking ill. I suffered with it a lot as a child, recurrently at one point in fact, so I recognised the signs.
On a brighter note, I am participating in a bag swap on Ravelry and I've finished mine!! Well, the knitting part anyway. Its in the washing machine as I type...hope I don't ruin it *wink*
I am so pleased with it!!! When I have posted it and my swappee has recieved it, I will blog it on my shared WoollyMamas blog. I am even contemplating writing up the pattern and submitting it to Ravelry....... shock horror! It'll be painful extracting the pattern from my head, but I am willing to suffer for my art......hehehehe
Working hard!
