I **love** my new slow cooker :D

I got a very bargainous 6.5 litre slow cooker off Amazon just after Christmas (the price has gone up since I got it)...and it kettle dyes perfectly!!! I have a little one for doing sock yarn too :)It dyes 200g of yarn brilliantly...and I can also get a decent amount of fibre in there too :) Need to experiment a bit more with the fibre though....

Anyhoo...this is some Alpaca~merino DK I dyed the other day, in a 200g lot....the colours are a bit deeper in real life, getting good pics at this time of year is hard ;)

The best day, EVAH :)

Today has been a good day. I was awoken by my boys brandishing chocolate cake and balloons and handfuls of cards.....it was just magical :-)
Not just because I got presents and nice things (although presents and nice things are always good!) , but because my husband, and my friends, made me feel like the most special person in the world.
So, to my friends, thankyou, from the bottom of my heart.....I hope I can maybe return the feeling soon......
And to my wonderful man...who I have been with now for longer than I have not , thankyou for making my 37th birthday the best one for a long time....

The green loving boychild and his hat....

Here's my beautiful godson (and nephew) in his hat...... apparently he's been to bed in it and everything ;)

Live and Let Ply Targhee, 3ply Handspun

This is a veryVeryVERY boingy yarn!!
It's Targhee, which was very weird to spin, took me a whole bobbin to get used to it!!! Wasn’t feeling the love for it at all for a while, but then I suddenly realised (whilst drinking cider) that spinning it longdraw-ish was the way to go with it…hehehe
It's aran weight, about 100g…..don’t know the yardage yet, as I’ve not measured it….. I do love it though….the colours go so well together :)

Pics, as promised :D

I bought this roving, Superwash Corriedale, in its undyed state from CapistranoFiberArts on etsy…
Its a really thirsty fibre, the dye struck very quickly on it….but I am very pleased with how it all turned out :)
There’s about 180g in this colourway, all ready to be spun into self striping sock yarn :D

The good news is, I have 500g of it left to sell, it won't be cheap, £10 per 100g.....but uuuhmmmmmmm....nomnomnom...well, it all depends on how it spins....I might keep it all for me... ;)

Neckwarmer........

Decided I needed a matching neckwarmer to go with my hat of the moment, Rainbow Warrior :) So I have used up the last of my Mudcreek handspun to make a very warm neckwarmer....
I'll have to write this pattern up methinks!!!

Yarn Mountain!

Seeing as how its my Birthday next week, I thought I'd have a little competition :D
Leave a post here, having a little guess as to how many skeins you reckon I have on my kitchen table, and it'll earn you an entry into the comp :D
Prize will be some yarrrn, if you are a knitter, or some fibre if you are a spinner......
Hehehehe............

Fuzzy Feet all Finished!!!

I will take a better photo tomorrow in the daylight, but I couldn't wait to share them with you!!!
They took 1/2 an hour to go from huge to the perfect size.....on a 40 degree cycle with a pair of old jeans.
They are now damp on my feet ;)
Well chuffed with my new fuzzy feet!

Somethin' about green and me

Decided I don't like having cold feet.....3 pairs of socks just isn't enough at the moment, my feet are always cold :( So, I am knitting myself some FuzzyFeet which are basically just huge socks!!! Have lots of oddments of Organic merino left over from knitting woollies...went through my faves and split them into two equal parts so the socks would match (anal, moi?) Have really got a thing about green at the moment too.......hmm.....

I am resisting the temptation to felt the first one, but MUST be good and wait till I've completed the second one!

Shouldn't take more than another night..... ***bounces***

..:o~ Note to self ~o::.

Remember this pattern for knitted gifts in the future, as its quick and easy :D

Shop Update tomorrow :D

Below is a sneak peek of the stuff I'll be listing......
Happy drooling!!!

Tequila Sunrise

Have wanted to do a "Tequila Sunrise" colourway for ages, so I googled it (as you do!) and found the most inspiring picture of a rose, pictured top....

I got some new dyes this week, especially to try it, as I couldn't get the shades I wanted with what I had here....

So I had a play, and it has appeared on Organic merino first, so I could work out if I got my colours right, and then the other two are BFL aran and merino sock......
I am really pleased with it.....
All three will be featured in my Folksy Shop restock tomorrow night, along with about 30+ other items :)

Blue Banana, 3 ply handspun

This is an worsted/aran weight handspun, 115g, approx 208yds. One ply is the space dyed BFL you can see a detailed picture of at the very top, and the ohter two plies are merino. One is space spun in shades of rust/orange and chesnut, and the other is solid turquoise :D This will subtly self stripe, and the depth of colour is immense!!!!

Gandalf

This colourway was inspired by a hat I made for a neighbour's daughter. The hat is"Dulcie" from Woollywormheads book, Going Straight and a little discussion in my Rav group prompted me to create this new colourway :)
It will only ever be available on Merino~silk fibre, as i think its silky and shiny like Gandalf's beard......lol

My very own Ravelry Group!!!

Okay, so its completely SHAMEful self promotion, but I am having a hard time keeping up with everything knitted/spun/created with fibres bought from me, so I thought I would start a group, to keep them all together in one place, and also to update customers with new additions to the shops.....
If you want to be my friend.....look me up in Groups on Ravelry ****big grin****

Purple Rainbow, Handspun 3ply

A ply of cashmerino in the colourway “Rainbows End” from Exclusively Lindalee on etsy…..and two solids plies, one of black and one of a real lush cardinal purple :D
Theres around 98g, worsted-ish, yay I am spinning thicker again…I havn’t measured yardage yet…..oooh……its so squidgy!!!!
